The Gibson Southern Titans will take on the Heritage Hills Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Gibson Southern sitting on three straight wins and Heritage Hills on 18 (dating back to last season).
Gibson Southern gave up the first points last Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They really took it to Southridge for the full four quarters, racking up a 41-12 victory. Considering the Titans have won three contests by more than 25 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Zach Foster was his usual excellent self, throwing for 201 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 112 yards and one score on only 14 carries. What's more, he racked up 132.8 passer rating, the most he's had since back in August of 2024. Peyton Johnson was Foster's top target, picking up 64 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Gibson Southern's defense and their three sacks. In that department, Maverick Deputy was the leader with two.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Heritage Hills and Washington, and Heritage Hills kept the tradition alive. The Patriots breezed past the Hatchets to the tune of 49-7 on Friday. The Patriots are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the fifth matchup they've won by 20+ points this season.
Gibson Southern better keep an eye on Tyce Winchell. He was instrumental in Heritage Hills' win, rushing for 102 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only seven carries. Winchell's longest rush was for an impressive 50 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Heritage Hills also got help from Tyler Ruxer, who showed off his sure hands for 126 receiving yards.
Heritage Hills was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 298 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 156 rushing yards in 18 consecutive games dating back to last season.
Gibson Southern's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Heritage Hills, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Gibson Southern has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 215.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Heritage Hills struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 252 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Gibson Southern lost to Heritage Hills at home by a decisive 35-18 margin when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Titans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
