Flag Football Game Preview: King Wolves vs. Centennial Huskies

King is 0-3 against Centennial since September of 2023 but things could change on Monday. The Wolves will challenge the Huskies at 4:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Wednesday, King was just a hair shy of victory and fell 20-19 to Shadow Hills. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 286th, while the Knights are ranked 62nd).

Meanwhile, Centennial came up short against Roosevelt on Monday and fell 20-12. The loss continues a trend for the Huskies in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost five in a row.

Even if they lost, Centennial's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Jaylene Sangenito. Sangenito is crushing it when it comes to sacks: she's posted at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

King now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Centennial, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-15.

King came up short against Centennial when the teams last played back in September, falling 18-14. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Huskies' Olivia Guerrero, who threw for 236 yards and three TDs on only 16 passes.
