Baseball Recap: William Allen Takes a Loss

After flying high against East Stroudsburg North on Monday, William Allen came back down to earth. The Canaries fell just short of the Allentown Central Catholic Vikings by a score of 6-4 on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-3 last Monday.

William Allen saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Davien Orozco, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Emill Roman was another, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

William Allen's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Allentown Central Catholic, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

William Allen will challenge Whitehall at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Zephyrs will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Canaries surely won't give up without a fight. As for Allentown Central Catholic, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Parkland at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
