Recap: Red Level Tigers vs. Florala Wildcats
There's no place like home for the Red Level Tigers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Monday. They slipped by Florala 62-61 on Wednesday. The win was all the more spectacular given Red Level's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 273rd, while Florala is ranked 63rd).
Red Level's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Javen Poindexter, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Poindexter has scored at least 25% of Red Level's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominic Williams, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds.
Red Level's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Florala, their loss dropped their record down to 10-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Red Level will challenge Georgiana at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Georgiana has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 193 points over their last three matchups. As for Florala, they will head out on the road to face off against Kinston at 6:30 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
