Preview: Barberton Magics vs. Aquinas Knights
After two games on the road, Barberton is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Aquinas Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
On Friday, Barberton was beaten by Aurora 57-19. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Barberton has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Aquinas' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 55-34 walloping at the hands of John F. Kennedy Catholic. Aquinas has struggled against John F. Kennedy Catholic recently, as their game on Wednesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Aquinas got a solid performance out of Paris Everett, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks. Everett is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Janya Jeter, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Barberton's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-6. As for Aquinas, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
Barberton strolled past Aquinas in their previous meeting back in February by a score of 47-29. Does Barberton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Aquinas turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
