Softball Recap: Muhlenberg Wins Going Away Against Reading

Muhlenberg won the last time they faced Reading and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Muhls were the clear victors by a 19-3 margin over the Red KNights. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Muhls.

Kaylee Jablonski made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (three). She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.

In other batting news, Kenleigh Brill was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jaela Eaton, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Muhlenberg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Muhlenberg's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Reading, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.

Coming up, Muhlenberg will be playing in front of their home fans against Tulpehocken at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Reading, they will venture away from home to square off against J.P. McCaskey at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Red KNights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Red Tornado have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
