Recap: Fowler Grizzlies vs. Las Animas Trojans
The Fowler Grizzlies were the 48-21 winner over the Las Animas Trojans when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Fowler took a 45-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Las Animas on Tuesday. Fowler has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Fowler still got an impressive performance from Andrea Maestas, who scored 20 points along with four steals. Maestas is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Las Animas was led to victory by Jadann Eck and Emma Netherton. Eck dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds, while Netherton dropped a double-double on 15 points and 16 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Netherton scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chanel LaBarge , who scored six points along with six assists.
Fowler's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2. As for Las Animas, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.
Fowler will take on Jefferson in a holiday battle at 12:00 p.m. on December 21st at. As for Las Animas, they will head out on the road to face off against Swink at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
