Volleyball Recap: Wakefield Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Wakefield, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Pike Valley Panthers on Saturday, sneaking past 2-1.

Wakefield had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-17, 25-23.

Pike Valley's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kinely Cooper, who had 13 digs and one block, and Elise Lieb, who had seven aces and three digs. With that strong performance, Lieb is now averaging an impressive 3 aces per game.

Wakefield's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-12-1. As for Pike Valley, they dropped their record down to 0-15 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.
