Football Recap: Independence Starts Season with Victory on the Road + How To Watch

Independence had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They managed a 27-21 win over the Gaffney Indians. The score was all tied up 21-21 at the break, but the Patriots were the (much) better team in the second half.

Independence was led to victory by Jared Street Jr and Jayden Jones. Street Jr rushed for 61 yards and one TD on only eight carries, while Jones gained 115 total yards and three touchdowns.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Independence will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Hough at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Gaffney, they will welcome J.L. Mann at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
