Preview: Corinth Warriors vs. Tishomingo County Braves
Corinth has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Tishomingo County Braves at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Corinth focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Corinth was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 45-44 to West Point.
Despite the loss, Corinth saw an underclassman step up: Xae Mayes scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The game was Mayes' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Braedyn Burress was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Even though they lost, Corinth were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought contest, but Tishomingo County had to settle for a 46-44 loss against Hardin County on Friday.
Corinth now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Tishomingo County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
Corinth skirted past Tishomingo County 49-46 in their previous matchup back in January. Will Corinth repeat their success, or does Tishomingo County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
