It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Neumann-Goretti ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They skirted past the Monsignor Bonner/Archbishop Prendergast Catholic Friars 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Saints have posted since March 28th.

Neumann-Goretti got a great performance from Johnluca LaSpada as he tossed 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. LaSpada has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

The win made it two in a row for Neumann-Goretti and bumps their season record up to 8-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Monsignor Bonner/Archbishop Prendergast Catholic, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.
