Basketball Recap: Collinsville Comes Up Short

Collinsville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 53-43 to the Fyffe Red Devils, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-43 on Thursday.

Collinsville's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Fyffe, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Collinsville will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Coosa Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 21st. Fyffe also won't see the court for a while: their next contest is against Geraldine at 7:30 p.m. on January 21st. Geraldine knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Fyffe likes a good challenge.
