Volleyball Game Preview: Elite Eagles vs. Trinity Prep Crusaders

The Elite Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Trinity Prep Crusaders at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Elite is looking for their season's first win.

Elite came up short against Leroy Greene Academy on Monday, falling 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-3, 25-15, 25-7.

Meanwhile, Trinity Prep entered their matchup against Pleasant Hill Adventist Academy on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Crusaders took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars.

Trinity Prep started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-19, 25-14, 25-20.

Elite will have to keep a close watch on Tabitha Gunning and Chloe Sanchez, a pair of players who had a big impact on Trinity Prep's prior game. Gunning had 11 aces and six digs, while Sanchez had eight aces and four digs. Gunning is crushing it when it comes to aces: she's served at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Lilanny Reyes- Mendoza, who had five aces and four digs.

The defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 10-6. As for Elite, their loss dropped their record down to 0-10.

Elite suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Trinity Prep in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
