Baseball Recap: Manitowoc Lutheran Wins Going Away Against Hilbert

Manitowoc Lutheran lost to Hilbert last Monday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Lancers blew past the Wolves 15-5. The result was nothing new for the Lancers, who have now won three games by six runs or more so far this season.

Isaiah Hochmuth made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double. That hit marked the first that he has got this season.

In other pitching news, Aaden Krause looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched.

Back at the plate, Logan Haupt was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Joel Voigt, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Manitowoc Lutheran was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .410. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory got Manitowoc Lutheran back to even at 5-5. As for Hilbert, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.

Looking ahead, Manitowoc Lutheran will take on Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lancers are facing the Blazers at the right time seeing as the Blazers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Hilbert, they will face off against Reedsville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
