Hertford County is 8-1 against Pasquotank County since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Hertford County's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Friday. They blew past Roanoke Rapids 34-0. The game marked the Bears' most dominant victory of the season so far.
Ayden Everette was his usual excellent self, rushing for 198 yards and three TDs while picking up 12.4 yards per carry. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 59 yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Hertford County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 262 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Hertford County's defense and their three sacks. Chase Everette was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with six.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pasquotank County). They claimed a resounding 36-0 win over Camden County. The Panthers' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Pasquotank County's win came from a few key players Hertford County will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jayon Harris, who rushed for 122 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries, and also picked up 63 receiving yards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 103.8 rushing yards per game. Tyshawn Spencer was another key player, rushing for 133 yards and one score on only 14 carries.
Hertford County now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Pasquotank County, their record is now 5-0.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Hertford County has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 170.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Pasquotank County struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 253.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Hertford County couldn't quite get it done against Pasquotank County when the teams last played back in September of 2024 as they fell 20-7. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Harris, who rushed for 232 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 13.6 yards per carry.
