Basketball Recap: Pungo Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Pungo Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 55-46 to the Friendship Christian Falcons.

Despite the loss, Pungo Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Marshall Ricks, who almost dropped a double-double with 27 points and nine rebounds. Ricks' evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Cripe, who posted 12 points.

Even though they lost, Pungo Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. This was only their 11th loss (out of 16 games) when they've passed the ball that well.

Friendship Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Josh Woodard out in front who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave Woodard a new career-high in assists (eight). Another player making a difference was Patrick Keller, who went 7-for-9 on his way to 17 points and five rebounds.

Pungo Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Friendship Christian, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-8.

Pungo Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Friendship Christian, they will take on Southeastern Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Southeastern Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.5 points per game this season.
