Basketball Recap: Verona Comes Up Short

Verona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat. They took a blow against the Hurley Tigers, falling 73-44. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 55-44 back in November of 2024.

Verona's loss dropped their record down to 1-19. As for Hurley, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-11 record this season.

Verona wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 76-44 defeat against New Covenant Academy on the 7th. We've got a battle between Tigers coming up. Hurley is facing Exeter at the right time seeing as Exeter is stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
