Softball Game Preview: Tri Titans vs. Milan Indians

The Tri Titans will face off against the Milan Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tri will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

Tri is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They had just enough and edged out South Decatur 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Titans have posted against the Cougars since April 25, 2017.

Macey Ballard made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, Rylan Mathews was incredible, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Ann Bean was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Tri was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Milan hadn't done well against Hauser recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Indians walked away with a 7-2 win over the Jets. Winning may never get old, but the Indians sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Tri's record is now 21-5. As for Milan, their record now sits at 25-9.
