Softball Preview: Mountain Crest Mustangs vs. Viewmont Vikings        
        
		
            
 The Mountain Crest Mustangs will be playing at home against the Viewmont Vikings at 3:30  p.m.  on Monday. Mountain Crest is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 7.2  runs per game  this season.
 Mountain Crest entered their tilt with Logan with two consecutive wins  but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Grizzlies by a score of  8-4  on Friday.
  Braelynn Anderson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned  (and one unearned) runs on eight hits.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Aspen Leishman, who  went 2-for-4 with a  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs. The team also got some help courtesy of  Izzy Laughery, who  scored a  run while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances.
 Meanwhile,  after some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matchups, Viewmont finally came back down to earth  on Friday. They fell victim to a  tough 14-0 loss at the hands of Box Elder. The  contest marked that first time this season in which Viewmont was not able to get on the board.
 Viewmont saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Ricki Smith, who  went 2-for-2 with a  double.
 Mountain Crest's win  ended  a  six-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 5-12. As for Viewmont, they now  have a losing record at 5-6.
 Monday's   match will be a test for both team's pitchers. Mountain Crest hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of .345. However, it's not like Viewmont struggles in that department as   they've  averaged .411. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
