Montclair posted their closest win since March 28th on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the West Orange Mountaineers 2-1. The victory continues a trend for the Mounties in their matchups with the Mountaineers: they've now won three in a row.

Montclair had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-19, 25-15.

West Orange's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Leonardo McCormick, who had 12 digs, and Carnegie Pierre, who had six digs and one block. Pierre has been hot, having also posted 15 or more assists the last five times he's played.

Montclair's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for West Orange, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-5.

Montclair and West Orange will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Mounties see the court they'll take on Bloomfield at 4:00 p.m. on May 5. As for West Orange, their break will end when they face Glen Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on May 7.
