Basketball Recap: Oak Grove Triumphs

Oak Grove had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They escaped with a win on Thursday against the Richton Rebels by the margin of a single free throw, 41-40.

Despite the loss, Richton still got an impressive performance from Rakhiya Moody, who posted 13 points along with eight boards and seven steals. Caedence Amos-Smith was another key player, putting up three points and seven rebounds.

Oak Grove's victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Richton, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season.

Oak Grove didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-16 defeat against Laurel on the 27th. As for Richton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 61-54 loss against Jefferson Davis County on the 27th.
