Holbrook comes up short despite Tyler Tapaha's dominant performance

Recap: Holbrook Roadrunners vs. Round Valley Elks

The Holbrook Roadrunners suffered their biggest loss since November 25, 2023 on Thursday. They suffered a rough 60-37 loss at the hands of Round Valley. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Holbrook has scored all season.

When it comes to explaining why Holbrook lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tyler Tapaha. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points along with nine rebounds. That was a full 43.2% of Holbrook's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Salabye, who scored four points.

Holbrook are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-7. As for Round Valley, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-8.

Holbrook will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Blue Ridge at 7:30 p.m. Blue Ridge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 204th, while Holbrook is ranked 91st). Round Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
