Basketball Game Preview: Bountiful Redhawks vs. Maple Mountain Golden Eagles

Two dominant guards in Milika Satuala and Leah Bailey are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Bountiful Redhawks are taking a road trip to face off against the Maple Mountain Golden Eagles at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Bountiful will be strutting in after a win while Maple Mountain will be coming in after a loss.

Bountiful had to skate by with only a one-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 26-point drubbing they dealt Payson on Thursday. The Redhawks were the clear victors by a 69-43 margin over the Lions. With that victory, the Redhawks brought their scoring average up to 51.8 points per game.

Bountiful can attribute much of their success to Maleah Nelson, who posted 18 points. Those 18 points gave Nelson a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Maple Mountain played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Lone Peak, falling 75-31. The Golden Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 55-19.

Bountiful will have to contain Autumn Jones as she made an impact in Maple Mountain's last game. She earned ten points.

Maple Mountain's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Bountiful, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Bountiful was able to grind out a solid victory over Maple Mountain in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 56-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Redhawks since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
