Basketball Recap: Rocktown Comes Up Short

Rocktown and Liberty Christian squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Rocktown had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Liberty Christian Bulldogs and fell 78-47. The Raptors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-17.

Liberty Christian found their leader in sophomore Tre Smith, who went 6-for-9 to rack up 15 points. Smith is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Michael Chestnut, who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine boards.

Rocktown dropped their record down to 9-13 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Liberty Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.

Rocktown does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Liberty Christian, they will square off against Wilson Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Liberty Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Wilson Memorial likes a good challenge.
