Baseball Game Preview: Chico Panthers vs. Enterprise Hornets

For the second straight game, Chico will face off against Enterprise. Chico will venture away from home to challenge Enterprise at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Chico has eight straight victories, Enterprise has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

If Chico beats Enterprise with 11 runs on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Chico was the clear victor by an 11-1 margin over Enterprise on Tuesday. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Vinny Boatwright looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Jordan Neugebauer was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Tweedt, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Chico hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in three consecutive games.

Enterprise's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Chico, their win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-0.
