Perris is 0-8 against Rancho Verde since March of 2019 but things could change on Monday. The Panthers will host the Mustangs at 3:15 p.m.
On Friday, Perris didn't have quite enough to beat JW North and fell 2-1.
Perris saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jeremy Harper, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Rancho Verde came tearing into Saturday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.9 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Bruins get on the board and left with a 4-0 win.
Janson Moreno was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Caden Coppola was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.
Rancho Verde was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher in eight consecutive matchups.
Perris' defeat dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Rancho Verde, their victory bumped their record up to 19-6.
