Softball Recap: De Anza Comes Up Short

After flying high against St. Patrick-St. Vincent last Tuesday, De Anza came back down to earth. The De Anza Dons came up short against the Albany Cougars on Tuesday, falling 14-3. The Dons haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Riana Everetts was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while going 2-for-2. Everetts is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

De Anza now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Albany, their record now sits at 2-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. De Anza will welcome Pinole Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pinole Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.7 runs per game this season. As for Albany, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Albany Cougars duke it out with Saint Mary's Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. They also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 6.8 runs per game.
