Basketball Recap: West Warwick Continues Home Dominance on Monday

West Warwick had won three straight home games dating back to last season and Owen Stearns did his part to make it four on Monday. The West Warwick Wizards blew past the Central Falls Warriors 87-64 thanks in part to Stearns, who went 11 of 17 on his way to 26 points and three steals. That's the most points he has posted since back in January.

The team also got some help courtesy of Colin Kelly, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards. Kelly is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season.

Central Falls lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Sire Hazard, who went 6 of 15 on his way to 18 points in addition to eight assists and six boards. Hazard continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Leandro Rojas Vargas, who posted 18 points and six rebounds.

West Warwick's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Central Falls, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Toll Gate the next time they take the court. West Warwick will host Toll Gate at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Central Falls will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
