Softball Recap: Hanover Bears vs. Pelham Pythons

Hanover had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 0-9 to make it six. They came up short against the Pelham Pythons, falling 16-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bears of the 6-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

As for Pelham, they moved to 3-8 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak. Their offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last four games.

For Pelham's part, Caileigh Aguiar made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. Aguiar has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
