Soccer Recap: Calhoun Takes a Loss

After flying high against Palacios on Friday, Calhoun came back down to earth. The Sandcrabs fell 5-3 to the El Campo Ricebirds on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Calhoun of the 4-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2025.

Lucas Barboss and Hser Eh Say scored all three of Calhoun's goals, bringing their combined season tally to eight goals.

Calhoun's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for El Campo, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Calhoun will challenge rival Columbus at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, El Campo is set to square off against their familiar foe Hallettsville at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
