Baseball Recap: Northeastern Clinton Comes Up Short

Moriah hit Northeastern Clinton with a four-run third inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cougars fell 5-2 to the Vikings. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 7-5 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Jacob Perkins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on one hit and racked up seven Ks. He has become a key player for Northeastern Clinton: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one hit, but 3-8-1 otherwise.

At the plate, Jordan Wells made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
