Recap: Friendly Patriots vs. Gwynn Park Yellowjackets
The Friendly Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 64-31 loss at the hands of Gwynn Park. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Friendly in their matchups with Gwynn Park: they've now lost five in a row.
Friendly's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bryce Harvey, who scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Khadir Johnson, who scored ten points.
Friendly has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Gwynn Park, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 16-0.
Friendly will head out on the road to challenge High Point at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. High Point is coming into the matchup with eight straight losses at home, meaning Friendly will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. As for Gwynn Park, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Friendship Tech Prep Academy at 3:20 p.m. on February 3rd. Gwynn Park is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
