Basketball Recap: Otis-Bison Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Otis-Bison hadn't done well against Macksville recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Otis-Bison Cougars secured a 66-61 W over the Macksville Mustangs. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Cougars' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 251st, while the Mustangs are ranked 86th).

Despite the defeat, Macksville had strong showings from Diego Esparza, who posted 23 points in addition to seven assists and six steals, and Hector Gomez, who went 8-for-17 on his way to 22 points. That was a full 37.7% of Macksville's points, marking the eighth time in a row Esparza has put up more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Nolan Adams, who scored eight points and nine boards.
