Volleyball Recap: Blacksburg Comes Up Short

Blacksburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Chesnee Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on September 2nd.

The final score came out to 25-13, 25-5, 25-14.

Chesnee was led to victory by Faith Wall and Abbie Olson. Wall had five digs and four aces, while Olson had 13 assists and three aces. That's the most digs Wall has posted since back in August. Claire Cash also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Blacksburg's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Chesnee, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4-1 record this season.

Blacksburg has already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Liberty on the 2nd. As for Chesnee, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Crescent on the 2nd.
