PEKIN, Ill. -
Metamora (Ill.) kept up a steady attack all game long to beat Pekin (Ill.), 45-14, on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Nick Holman touchdown run in the first quarter, the Redbirds led 28-0 at the half.
Metamora expanded its lead to 35 points entering the fourth quarter. MHS scored once in the quarter on a
Zach Rohrbach touchdown run.
Coming into the game the Redbirds had allowed 20.2 points per game this year.
Metamora also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 34-10.
The win brought Metamora's winning streak to four games.
Pekin (3-3) goes up against Canton in a Mid-Illini game matchup next week, while Metamora (4-2) locks horns with Morton also in a Mid-Illini game.
