Softball Recap: Perrydale Snags Seventh Win in Last Nine Games

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Perrydale ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Country Christian Cougars by a score of 19-14. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 20-10 victory back in April.

Brooklynn Barcroft was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lily Eichler, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple.

Perrydale hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Country Christian struck out ten times.

Perrydale is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.7 runs over those games. As for Country Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8-1.

Perrydale does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Country Christian, they will take on St. Paul at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
