Baseball Recap: Waterville Comes Up Short

Waterville fell victim to Cony and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 8-0 to the Rams. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Waterville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Garrett Gendreau, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases. Jacoby Sirois also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Waterville's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Cony, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-2.

Looking ahead, Waterville will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Oceanside at 4:00 p.m. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mariners have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Cony, they will face off against Belfast at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
