The Palmdale Academy Charter School Jaguars will take on the Vasquez Mustangs in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Palmdale Academy Charter School is coming into the contest on the come-up as their season has now been buoyed by two straight victories. They strolled past Lancaster Baptist with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 58-40.

Palmdale Academy Charter School relied on the efforts of Mykah Lanier, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds, and Casey Culver, who shot 55% from the field to rack up 17 points in addition to five assists and five boards. The matchup was Culver's fourth in a row with at least 17 points. Kevin Pliego was another key player, putting up ten points.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Vasquez). They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat The Palmdale Aerospace Academy 88-39. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 55-25.
Vasquez's win came from a few key players Palmdale Academy Charter School will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Noah Rowley, who went 9-for-15 en route to 23 points along with six assists and four steals. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 42.5% three-point shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Daeron Bankett, who shot 73% from the field on his way to 17 points and seven assists.
Vasquez smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 7 offensive boards per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 13.4.
The win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-6. As for Vasquez, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.
Monday's matchup is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Palmdale Academy Charter School just can't miss this season, having made 55% of their field goals per game. However, it's not like Vasquez struggles in that department as they've nailed 47.7% of their shots this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Palmdale Academy Charter School was taken down by Vasquez 73-29 in their previous meeting back in January. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Jaguars were down 43-16.
