Basketball Game Preview: Allegany Campers vs. Jefferson Cougars

The Allegany Campers will face off against the Jefferson Cougars on Saturday. Allegany has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Last Monday, Allegany beat Northern Garrett 60-51. Given the Campers' advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while the Huskies are ranked 128th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 52-37 bruising from Washington.

Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Allegany, their victory bumped their record up to 12-3.

Allegany was able to grind out a solid win over Jefferson in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 51-38. Will Allegany repeat their success, or does Jefferson have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
