Volleyball Recap: Wynot Triumphs

Wynot won the last time they faced Plainview and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Blue Devils won by a set and slipped past the Pirates 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Devils.

Wynot had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-15, 25-22.

Wynot had a senior duo take command as Haley Wieseler had 35 assists and 16 digs and Kenna Oligmueller had 15 kills, 14 digs, and two aces. Oligmueller has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 31 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiera Heimes, who had ten digs and three aces.

Wynot's win bumped their record up to 20-4. As for Plainview, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-8.

Coincidentally, Wynot and Plainview will both be playing Randolph the next time they take the court. The Pirates will head out to face the Cardinals at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Blue Devils will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
