Volleyball Recap: Wilmington Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Wilmington lost against Waynesville back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Hurricane lost 3-0 to the Spartans.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-8, 25-17.

Miya Nance paced Wilmington's offense, picking up five kills. Nance got some help from Anna Niemesh and her 12 assists. Finally, Nance was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Among those leading the charge was Abby Buck, who had 13 digs and four aces. Those four aces gave her a new career-high.

Wilmington's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Wilmington didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Eaton on the 19th. As for Waynesville, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Monroe on the 21st.
