Softball Recap: Mcclatchy Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

There's no place like home for McClatchy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They skirted past the Kennedy Cougars 4-3. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Madelyn Ogata spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on four hits.

At the plate, McClatchy saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayeliza Rogers, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

McClatchy pushed their record up to 12-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Kennedy, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McClatchy will welcome Grant at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions are facing the Pacers at the right time seeing as the Pacers are stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Kennedy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Park at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight.
