Basketball Recap: Wright Takes a Loss

Wright lost against Tongue River back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Wright Panthers were outmatched by the Tongue River Eagles and fell 63-21. The matchup marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Wright's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dani Barnhurst, who posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jocelyn Umiker, who put up five points in addition to 11 rebounds and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Wright and nudges their season record down to 8-8. As for Tongue River, the win keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.

Wright will welcome Big Horn at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Tongue River, they will square off against Moorcroft at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
