Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Mater Lakes Academy walked away with it. They walked away with a 15-6 win over the Northwestern Bulls on Thursday. The victory was nothing new for the Bears as they're now sitting on six straight.

Valentina Builes was the offensive standout of the game as she rushed for 66 yards and one TD, and also threw for 112 yards and one touchdown. That's the most rushing yards she has posted since back in March.

Despite the loss, Northwestern still got an impressive performance from Jade Yacinthe, who threw for 127 yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 46 yards.

Mater Lakes Academy's win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Northwestern, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-3 record.

Mater Lakes Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 28-0 victory against Bishop Verot on the 23rd. As for Northwestern, they have also already played their next contest, a 7-0 win against TERRA Environmental on the 23rd.
