Baseball Recap: Rutherford Beats Harrison for Their Third Straight Victory

Rutherford put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let the Harrison Blue Tide get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Blue Tide, too.

The team relied heavily on Andrew Erickson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Landon Kemple, who scored a run while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.

Rutherford hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters every time they've taken the field this season.

Rutherford's record is now 3-0. As for Harrison, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rutherford will face off against Livingston at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Harrison, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Lyndhurst at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
