Soccer Recap: Leesburg Comes Up Short

Leesburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Umatilla Bulldogs, falling 4-1. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Yellow Jackets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-4 back in December of 2024.

Leesburg's loss dropped their record down to 2-11-1. As for Umatilla, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Leesburg will take on Eustis at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Eustis is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.7 goals per game this season. As for Umatilla, they are taking a road trip to challenge South Sumter at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Umatilla also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 4.2 goals per game.
