Basketball Recap: BASIS Takes a Loss

BASIS was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Capital City Public Charter School EAGLES, falling 72-48. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red Giants of the 73-58 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why BASIS lost, don't look at Timothy Chamberlain II. Despite the final result, he posted 34 points. The contest was Chamberlain II's 27th in a row with at least ten points.

BASIS's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Capital City Public Charter School, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-9.

BASIS wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 56-25 defeat against Idea on the 14th. Capital City Public Charter School has also already played their next game, a 75-32 loss against SEED DC on the 14th.
