Football Recap: Ambridge Bridgers vs. Blackhawk Cougars

They had to suffer through a 51-20 loss at the hands of the Blackhawk Cougars. The Bridgers lost against the Cougars in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 29-21 score last time.
As for Blackhawk, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-4. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their seven-point performance the contest before.
Brayden McCarthy produced another solid effort rushing for 246 yards and four scores on only 12 carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 65 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Hayden Magill also helped out as he racked up 114 rushing yards.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Ambridge will take on Montour at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Blackhawk, they will face off against Aliquippa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Quips' defense has only allowed 12.8 points per game this season, so the Cougars' offense will have their work cut out for them.
