Football Recap: Van Has No Trouble Against Pine Tree

Van won against Carter last Friday with 38 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Vandals strolled past the Pine Tree Pirates with points to spare, taking the game 38-21. For the Vandals, this counts as revenge for the 36-30 victory the Pirates walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Rawley Hinch threw for 85 yards on seven of 11 attempts. Connor Ammons was his top target, picking up 47 receiving yards. On the ground, Daquavion Williams rushed for 101 yards.

Van has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 38.0 points this season. As for Pine Tree, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Van has already played their next contest, a 56-49 loss against Lindale on the 12th. As for Pine Tree, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 46-29 victory against Carter on the 12th.
