Basketball Recap: Damon Heggie's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Vance County over Vance Charter + How To Watch

Vance County lost against Vance Charter back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Vipers took a 63-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights.

Several Vipers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Damon Heggie, who posted 20 points. Another player making a difference was Travis Whittler, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten boards.

Vance County's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Vance Charter, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Vance County will challenge J.F. Webb at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Vance Charter, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 59-49 win against Warren County on the 20th.
